Actor breaks down in videos slamming industry; deletes Instagram account
Babil Khan, son of late actor Irrfan Khan, left fans alarmed after breaking down in a series of now-deleted Instagram stories. He called Bollywood the “fakest industry” he’s ever been part of. In the concerning videos, the actor seemed to be under great mental distress. He said: “Bollywood is the most fakest, fakest, fakest industry that I’ve ever ever been a part of. But there are few people that want Bollywood to be better... I got to show you so much more, so much more, so much more. I have so much more to give you...”
“What I mean to say is that...I just want you guys to know that there are people like Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav and Arijit Singh. Bollywood is so f*****. Bollywood is so screwed,” he added.
Later, his team released a statement that said: “Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them...His mention of artists like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor and others came from a place of genuine admiration.”
