Janhvi Kapoor may not be setting the box office on fire, but she’s certainly heating up the fashion charts. As the new face of Masaba Gupta’s bridal collection Sabr Shukr Sukoon, Janhvi dazzled in rich tones of rust, red, and gold — stepping into the space last occupied by Kareena Kapoor Khan. With intricate zardozi, sequin, and gota work framing Masaba’s “bride who carves her own path,” Janhvi looked every bit the modern muse.
On social media, the campaign was widely applauded — her poise, grace, and styling drawing unanimous praise. But while the fashion world is clearly hers for the taking, her film career tells a different story.
The first song from her upcoming film Param Sundari, titled Pardesiya, dropped this week and landed with a thud. Designed to evoke nostalgia — with chiffon saris and visuals nodding to classics like Chandni, Roja, and Bombay — the track failed to connect. Critics pointed to the visible lack of chemistry between Janhvi and co-star Siddharth Malhotra, and the awkward 12-year age gap wasn’t missed by netizens either.

Others questioned her trajectory in cinema: after a blink-and-miss role in Devara and another seemingly underwritten part in the upcoming Peddi with Ram Charan, fans are wondering if performance-oriented scripts are even on her radar.
Interestingly, while the films falter, Janhvi has been making savvy moves off-screen — quietly soft-launching luxury label Miu Miu through carefully curated Instagram looks and strategic appearances at their events. With brand deals, fashion campaigns, and international exposure all falling into place, it’s clear Janhvi isn’t putting all her eggs in the Bollywood basket.
