Akshay Kumar is all set to reunite with filmmaker Priyadarshan for the director’s 99th film and this time, he is stepping into the world of wildlife.

The actor will reportedly play a wildlife preservationist, with his character said to be inspired by legendary conservationist and hunter Jim Corbett.

However, Priyadarshan clarifies that the film is not a serious biopic or a solemn take on wildlife conservation. “Jim Corbett is the inspiration for Akshay’s character. But this is not a serious, solemn film on wildlife preservation. It’s a fun film set in the 1960s, with lots of thrills. We will be shooting on real locations with real animals, no AI,” Priyadarshan says.

The filmmaker also revealed that he wanted to return to a lighter, fun-filled film with Akshay after Haiwaan, which releases this month. “Haiwaan is a dark thriller. We will step into the sunshine again with the wildlife film,” Priyadarshan adds.
