Akshay Takes Huge Pay-Cut To Make Next Project Viable

Akshay Kumar’s next comedy, Welcome To The Jungle, has already become a financially viable project, thanks to the actor’s decision to take a voluntary cut in his salary — a drastic one at that.

Setting an example for all A-listers, Akshay has reportedly charged only a small fraction of his normal fee (Rs 2 crore). If the film is a success, he will take a chunk of the profits.

Director Ahmed Khan is all praise for his leading man’s pliancy. “Welcome To The Jungle wouldn’t have been possible without Akshay’s active support. He came forward to stand by the project in every way possible. It is time for superstars to pitch in with more than just their presence in front of the camera for big-ticket projects to happen,” he said.
