Kohli reached this milestone during the IPL match against Delhi Capitals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday. His staggering 1,000 boundary tally in all 18 IPL seasons comprises of 721 fours and 279 sixes.
The star batter leads the most number of fours list in IPL history, while he holds the third position in terms of sixes, behind Chris Gayle (357) and Rohit Sharma (282).
Kohli has so far scored 186 runs in this ongoing IPL season.
In the match against DC, Kohli managed to score only 22 runs with 2 sixes and 1 four, and RCB ended up on the losing side. Batting first, RCB had a strong start but was able to put up a total of 163 in 20 overs. In reply, KL Rahul’s splendid 93 not out helped Delhi Capitals chase down the target in 17.5 overs.
