An old tweet of former team India skipper Virat Kohli is going viral across social media platforms as chatter around his beard was getting louder.
"The talk around my beard is quite entertaining. @klrahul11, @buntysajdeh, @yuzi_chahal, @y_umesh it's popcorn time boys #ViratBeardInsurance," Kohli wrote in a tweet in 2018.
The talismanic batter was topping the trending charts in the country recently but it had nothing to do with the sport, which would have been the ideal case until recently.
On August 8, the 36-year-old clicked a picture with Shash Kiran, CEO of a sports consultancy firm, in London, which quickly went viral.
Indian Cricketing Fans and Kohli maniacs couldn't keep silent after spotting his salt and pepper look. Kohli was seen donning a black hoodie and black hat as he humbly posed for the picture. However, what caught the eye of many was his "gray beard."
A section of netizens were in distress to see their childhood hero grow old, while others felt he was in a happy place.
"White beard, dimming fire, and tired eyes, Yes, that's Virat Kohli in his latest pic from London. The King has begun to lay down his sword..We've probably reached the ending we never wanted to see!" a fan posted on X.
Kohli, who was seen at the Wimbledon in July with a full black beard, told the media that he recently coloured his beard.
A tsunami of memes hit online soon after the emotional reactions.
Kohli who announced retirements from T20Is and Tests was last seen on the cricket field on June 3, when his IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched their maiden trophy in 17 years.
