Hyderabad: The Telangana Differently-Abled Cricket Management Committee organized a grand felicitation ceremony to honour Sainath Reddy on his selection as a player and Chandrabhan Giri on his selection as a coach for the Indian Differently-Abled Cricket Team. The felicitation was conducted in recognition of their achievements and outstanding contributions to differently-abled cricket.
The event took place at the Fateh Maidan Club in Hyderabad and was attended by several distinguished guests, including former Union Minister of State Venugopalachari, Sports Authority of Telangana (SAT) Chairman Shivasena Reddy, and Coach G. Manohar Reddy.
Sainath Reddy and Chandrabhan Giri earned national recognition following their selection to represent Team India in the upcoming India vs. Sri Lanka Differently-Abled Cricket Tournament, scheduled to take place in Chennai from October 31 to November 2, 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Narender Goud, President of the Telangana Differently-Abled Cricket Association, said, "Being selected for the Indian national team is a matter of immense pride not only for Sainath Reddy and Chandrabhan Giri but also for the entire differently-abled cricket community in Telangana. Their success proves that physical disability is no barrier to excelling in sports. By celebrating their achievement, our aim is to encourage more differently-abled youth to take up sports. We hope their journey helps bring greater recognition, opportunities, and support for differently-abled athletes across the country."
The event concluded with an effort to motivate more differently-abled individuals to excel in sports and compete at national and international levels. The organizers emphasized the importance of acknowledging the talent and determination of differently-abled athletes and providing them with the necessary opportunities, encouragement, and support to showcase their skills.
