Pratyay Wins World’s Longest River Swimming Competition for 4th Consecutive Time
A total of 27 swimmers from different countries, including Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as well as from other states, participated in the prestigious competition

Berhampore: West Bengal swimmer Pratyay Bhattacharya became champion for the fourth consecutive time in the world’s longest river swimming competition, held in the Bhagirathi River early Sunday morning.
Amid rain and turbulent waters, the 81-km-long international river swimming competition was flagged off from Ahiran Ferry Ghat early Sunday morning. A total of 27 swimmers from different countries, including Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as well as from other states, participated in the prestigious competition.
Bangladesh national swimmer Palash Chowdhury finished second, while another Bangladeshi swimmer, Md Nurul Islam, secured third place.
West Bengal State Library Minister Gouri Shankar Ghosh and Murshidabad Swimming Association General Secretary Debendranath Das thanked all the participants for making the event a success.
