8-Year-Old Prodigy Nirvi Pradyumna Aims for Two World Records in One Event

In recognition of her extraordinary talents, Nirvi has been invited to the British Parliament in September 2025 for a special felicitation — a rare and prestigious honour for someone so young.

Hyderabad: Enthusiastic chess lovers witnessed an extraordinary event as 8-year-old child prodigy Nirvi Pradyumna demonstrated over 50 chess opening traps across 50+ boards in record 30 minutes time. In addition, Nirvi identified the official currencies of 195 countries in a single attempt in just 4 minutes & 26 seconds. The event was held at Ashoka One Mall, Kukatpally.

By attempting two unprecedented world records in a single event, Nirvi showcased her remarkable talent in both chess and global awareness.
During the event, she performed each chess opening trap with perfect clarity and speed, seamlessly moving between more than 50 different chess setups. She also instantly recognized and named the official currency of each country using flashcards — a feat that highlighted her incredible memory and cognitive abilities. This achievement places Nirvi among India’s youngest chess and memory prodigies.

A Grade 3 student at New York Academy, Hyderabad, Nirvi is a gifted pupil of the Roy Chess Academy, trained and mentored by its founder, Rajasekhar Reddy. She has consistently impressed her mentors with her tactical acumen, discipline, and dedication.
Her parents — Dr. Swetha, Eye Surgeon and Founder of Ikshana Eye Hospital, and Bajjuri Pradyumna, Proprietor of Viven Innovative Technologies — shared that they introduced Nirvi to chess after recognizing her natural inclination toward logical thinking and exceptional memory. They expressed immense pride in their daughter’s achievements and hope that this event inspires other children to develop an interest in chess and global awareness.

They also appreciated Rajasekhar Reddy for his unwavering commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting chess among children.
