Japanese Volleyball Player's Sliding Dogeza Apology Goes Viral

Japanese volleyball star Yuji Nishida has got netizens charmed as a recent video shows him sliding into an apology as his left-handed serve struck a female staff member standing by the volleyball court.



The dramatic apology, somewhat resembling a dogeza, a traditional Japanese act of bowing so the forehead touches the floor, used to show extreme apology, happened at the SV League All-Star Game in Kobe, and the video has since gone viral.

He went on to slip rapidly across the court towards her and lowered his head in a dramatic apology. Further, Nishida dropped to his knees and continued to bow down. At one point, he pressed his palms and apologised.

"His transformation into a folding chair was sublime," wrote one user, while many quickly noticed the act familiar to them Japanese animes.
