Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Axar Patel had a fun encounter with IPL's newest sensation - the robotic dog on Monday evening during a training session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
After making its debut this season, the robo dog has become an instant superstar. Initially unnamed, the robo dog was recently given a name by IPL. Going with the popular audience' choice, officials named it 'Champak'.
After interacting with title-winning captains like Dhoni and Hardik, the android met captain Axar Patel ahead of DC's faceoff with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Axar had a fun banter with the robo, which was recorded and the video was posted by Delhi Capitals on their official 'X' handle, with the caption "Bapu talking to a robotic dog in Gujarati was not on our 2025 bingo card."
A stunned Axar Patel was seen saying, "Kya hai ye(what is this)." Later he asked the robo, "Dara kyu raha hai (why are you scaring me)."
He along with Sameer Rizvi teased the bot in Gujarati. "It's from Japan, Say Hi to him, Gujarati Samajhta hai?" they were heard conversing.
