Archer Jyoti Surekha up to 10th in world rank

This is Surekha's best career ranking and she is also the first ever Indian compound women to enter in the top 10.

Hyderabad: Vijayawada Archer Vennam Jyothi Surekha achieved new heights after securing World 10th rank in compound women’s category as per the world rankings released by the World Archery Federation. This is Surekha’s best career ranking and she is also the first ever Indian compound women to enter in the top 10.

Jyothi along with Abhishek Verma won bronze medal on Sunday, under the guidance of coach Jiwanjot Singh Tejain, in the World Cup stage-III that was held in USA. They defeated their USA opponents by 147-140 in the match for bronze. Earlier in semis, they lost to Russia by 149-152 verdict. This is the third medal for this pair in the mixed event this season and this is Surekha’s 25th international medal.
