Khelo India Youth Games: Telangana’s Ganesh Dhanavat lifts silver medal

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Ganesh Dhanavat won silver in the under-17 weightlifting, 73kg category, at the Khelo India Youth Games currently underway in Guwahati, Assam, on Sunday.

The state-lad made a total lift of 245kgs — 107 in snatch and 138 in clean & jerk categories respectively — to claim the second spot on the podium.

Meanwhile, Kiran Ravindra Marathe of Maharashtra aggregated 251kgs (111 in snatch and 140 in clean & jerk) for his gold and Delhi’s Shiva Chaudhary finished third with a total lift of 244kgs (109 snatch and 135 in clean & jerk).
