Gold Coast: Indian table tennis team continued their winning show in the ongoing 21st edition of the Commonwealth Games, with 'Golden Girl' Manika Batra claiming her maiden women's singles title here on Saturday.

The 22-year-old dominated throughout the match as she clinched straight games 11-7, 11-6, 11-2, 11-7 victory over Singapore's Meingyu Yu in the women's singles final.

With this, Manika also became the first Indian woman to bag two gold medals in table tennis at Commonwealth Games.

Moreover, this was Batra's third medal at Gold Coast. She had earlier defeated Singaporean player Yihan Zhou 11-7, 11-4, 11-7, to guide India to glory.

She then went on to win silver alongside Mouma Das in women's doubles on Friday.

Meanwhile, Harmeet Desai and Sanil Shankar Shetty defeated Singaporean players Yew En Koen Pang and Shao Feng Ethan Poh 11-5, 11-6, 12-10 to win the bronze medal in men's doubles.

At present, India's medal tally reads twenty-five gold, sixteen silver and eighteen bronze.

India currently ranks third in the medal tally with the 59 medals. Australia and England are leading with 184 and 121 medals respectively.
