Adheena K Latheef, Bose claim state TT singles titles
Thiruvananthapuram reigned supreme in the men and women team championships.
Adheena K. Latheef of Thiruvananthapuram and Soumyajeet Bose of Alappuzha had bagged the women's and men's singles titles of state senior inter-district table tennis championship at the YMCA in Alappuzha.
In the women's singles final, Adheena defeated Kozhikode's Anekha K. 4-1 while Bose drubbed teammate Soham Bhattacharya 4-1 for the men's title. Bose and Bhattacharya, however, combined for the men's doubles title defeating Thiruvananthapuram's Ranjith Benny and Senthil Kumar 3-1.
Adheena bagged her second gold partnering Bindu M.S. in the women's doubles title match, in which the Thiruvananthapuram duo blanked Kozhikode's Anekha and Ankitha 3-0.
Thiruvananthapuram reigned supreme in the men and women team championships. In the men's final, the team from the capital defeated hosts Alappuzha 3-1 while Kozhikode fell 0-3 in the women's event.
Kozhikode avenged their loss by taking the youth girls' team championship with a hard fought 3-2 win over Thiruvananthapuram and the youth boys' team championship title went for Alappuzha that drubbed Palakkad 3-0.
