Mumbai: Cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar and Mark Boucher shared their expert takes on key performances during the ongoing TATA IPL Rivalry Week (April 7–13), speaking exclusively on Kuhl Fans Match Centre Live on JioHotstar.
Gavaskar praised Krunal Pandya’s match-winning composure with the ball for RCB, comparing his subtle variations to the legendary Vinoo Mankad. “He makes up with temperament and variety. No wonder the captain trusted him with the final over,” he said.
On the Mumbai Indians' fightback, Boucher lauded Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma’s crucial partnership. “Hardik came in fresh and took on Hazlewood when the game was on the line. It was a brilliant turnaround,” he remarked.
Gavaskar also applauded Rajat Patidar’s leadership, crediting the support from senior players like Dinesh Karthik for RCB’s renewed focus. On Virat Kohli, he noted a key shift: “His intent to loft the ball early has unsettled bowlers and brought great results.”
He was equally impressed by Jasprit Bumrah, highlighting his return to top pace. “He’s hitting 140+ km/h with ease. With more confidence, he could soon touch 150,” Gavaskar said.
Speaking on Rohit Sharma, he advised a balance between aggression and shot selection. “If he can stay till the 8th or 9th over and get a solid 30–40, it’ll boost his confidence and help the team.”
