According to reports in a Spanish newspaper, US authorities received information about alleged plans to attack Messi and other players.
A social media user reportedly posted that a person would enter an Atlanta stadium with four bombs strapped to his body and target Messi. The post was later deleted, and authorities reportedly investigated the matter.
Another alleged threat involved a caller contacting Dallas Airport and claiming that a person would enter a stadium with homemade bombs and an AR-15 rifle. Police reportedly investigated the call and increased security measures.
