Shashank Mehrotra

HK Simha

Mickil Jaiswal

Khush Agarwal

Arjun Choudhary

Hyderabad: Two outstanding centuries featured in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Senior Men’s Super League games on Wednesday.

HK Simha produced the day’s highest score with a commanding 133 from 165 balls, striking 25 fours and two sixes for Team ‘G’, while Mickil Jaiswal made 114 from 151 balls with 11 fours and four sixes for Team ‘H’.

The bowling highlights came from Shashank Mehrotra, who returned an excellent 5/55 from nine overs and Ruthik Yadav, who claimed 5/104 in a 21-over spell. Khush Agarwal too stood out in Team H’s victory over ‘E’ by taking four wickets while conceding just one run. His figures read a highly impressive 3.3-2-1-4.

The Under-23 Emerging Players tournament was dominated by Team A’s C. Srinath Yadav, who scored 158 from 206 balls, striking 22 fours and three sixes. The principal bowling performance belonged to Arjun Choudhary, who dismantled Team C’s batting line-up with 7/70 from 13.3 overs.

In the Under-19 One-day Super League, Jashwanth Kanneboina produced the leading innings of the division, smashing 118 from 89 balls with 17 fours. B. Varshith Reddy also reached three figures, making 101 from 88 balls with 17 fours and two sixes. The bowling honours went to Nithin Nayak, whose 6/42 helped Team ‘F’ bowl out Team ‘E’ for 360, while Siddarth G claimed 5/41 in the same match. Arjun Chandrasekhar also turned in an allround performance. Batting at No. 7 for Team ‘C,’ he made an unbeaten 89 and then took two wickets with his pace.

The Under-16 Schools & Colleges tournament produced an exceptional volume of major individual performances, including nine centuries and several five-and six-wicket hauls. Utkarsh’s 170 from 150 balls was the highest individual score while Academic Heights-Badangpet produced three century-plus innings in a huge 480/2. Medjee Junior College also reached 397/4, featuring three individual hundreds.

The batting explosion continued with Aditya Das making 163 from 87 balls and Hare Krishna 152 from just 77 balls for Academic Heights. Ch Anirudh made 150 for Nizamabad District-1, while Bhadri Amarnadh Reddy scored 138 for Pallavi Model School.

The bowling was equally striking, led by Deepak Kumawat’s 7/7, with multiple six-wicket hauls and several five-wicket spells.

Promising player Ruhaan Verma of Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) was unfortunate to miss his century, against Bhavan’s Sri Aurobindo Junior College. He made 97 against a much older opposition before being the eighth batsman out as the school side lost the game.

In an interesting coincidence, both the Satwalekar cousins scored an identical 71 runs. While Yash got them for Team ‘C’ in the Seniors Super League, Arhaan contributed to Hyderabad Under-19 against their Bengal counterparts in a tour game.
