Hyderabad: With the term of the present committee of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) having come to an end, HCA members and former Test cricketers Arshad Ayub, Shivlal Yadav sought permission from the Single Member Committee appointed by Telangana High Court to conduct the Special General Meeting (SGM) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the earliest to elect a new governing body.
Speaking at a media conference held at the Press Club of Hyderabad on Wednesday, they stated that the formation of a new governing body was essential for the smooth functioning of the Association, as the term of the existing HCA Apex Council had expired. The former HCA officials, including John Manoj, said they had submitted their appeal to Retired Justice P. Naveen Rao, who is overseeing the affairs of the HCA.
They pointed out that the AGM was originally due to be held on June 21 but could not be conducted as the necessary preliminary procedures had not been completed. They urged the authorities to take steps to conduct the SGM on November 15.
