Mohali: After the end of first day’s play in Mohali, India paceman Umesh Yadav revealed that he has been working on his bowling discipline with coaches Anil Kumble and Sanjay Bangar.

Yadav had a good day with the ball, picking up the important wickets of Haseeb Hameed and Chris Woakes.

The India paceman said that he has been working on his bowling ahead of the Mohali Test.

"I have just been working on my line and length," said Umesh.

“Sanjay Bangar and Anil Kumble have been telling me to bowl with clear plans. The ball was swinging so I just wanted to hit the right areas,” he said.

The 29-year-old believes that there was something in the Mohali pitch for the seamers, with the ball showing some signs of reverse-swing, once it got old. He said: “I thought the ball reversed in a little too much so I tried to take it away too, but that didn't happen.”

Despite the good performance on the pitch, India were yet again guilty of not being attentive on the field, as a number of catches were dropped by the home side. Umesh believes that dropped catches are part and parcel of the game, and are evened-out by the good catches.

“Sometimes catches are dropped, but this is cricket. Sometimes your team-mates take good catches too,” he said.
