Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK), making a comeback to the Indian Premier League after two years, sealed their place in the IPL 2018 final with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Eliminator, will take on SRH in Qualifier 2 on Friday to seal the second spot in the final.

While the teams – KKR and SRH – and their fans will be keeping their fingers crossed as the game takes place at the iconic Eden Gardens today, a leaked Hotstar video, indicating a KKR versus CSK final on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, has set the tongues wagging, with Twitter users, claiming the final is “fixed”.

Although IPL has been giving more than handful of cricketers a livelihood, a chance to brush shoulders with the legends of the game and giving a boost to their hopes to represent their country, the tournament has had its share of controversies such as spot-fixing in IPL 2013, following which the then CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan was implicated in spot-fixing and betting case, and led to bans on three RR cricketers Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were banned, with their co-owner Raj Kundra, like Gurunath Meiyappan, was banned for life and CSK and RR were suspended for two years.

And after a leaked video, which went viral, on Thursday, which shows it will be a showdown between MS Dhoni’s men and Dinesh Karthik-led unit. However, Twitter came down heavily, with “fixed” remarks.
