Mumbai: Since the ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad campaign success during the ICC World Cup 2015, commercials became the new medium to set the mood before any major cricket tournament.

The advertisements talk about rivalry between teams, head-to-head record and much more.

Ahead of the Asia Cup T20 opener between India and Bangladesh at Fatullah on Wednesday, came another instance of ad war.

It opens with two Bangladesh fans relishing their team’s victory over India.

A television anchor asks a character named Mr Bidhu (named and dressed like Navjot Sidhu) about the situation.

He replied: “A cockroach doesn’t become a bird if it flies once.”

The fan gets infuriated and says: “How many times have we won compared to them in the last few tournaments?”

Earlier in 2015, the bamboo ad became famous when a Bengali from India was trolled by a Pakistani (all fictional) before the Men in Blue toured Bangladesh and lost the ODI series 2-1.

After Mustafizur Rahman cleaned up the glamorous Indian batting, there came a poster where the Indians appeared with their heads half shaven. It was called ‘Mustafizur cutter’.
