Pune: If you can’t take cricket to Chennai, you take Chennai to cricket.

While the homecoming was short-lived for Chennai Super Kings on their IPL comeback as their home games were shifted to Pune following the Cauvery protests ahead of their first game at MA Chidambaram Stadium, CSK, who have one of the strongest group of supporters amongst the eight IPL teams, management decided to port 1000 of their fans to Pune via the now famous #WhistlePoduExpress.

The Super fan of Super Kings, Saravanan Hari, who was flocked by the other CSK fans at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium as CSK batted, summed up the entire event in four words “my lifetime is reversed”.

“My lifetime is reversed; my school time, college time. The real family has travelled here, completing 24-hour journey of almost 1100 kilometres in 34 degree temperature. This is only for Captain Cool, to watch the team play in Pune. CSK has always received good support in Pune,” said Saravanan as the crowd erupted in joy following his whistle.

While CSK has made a comeback after two years, there’s no shortage of support for MS Dhoni and his men. If anything, it’s hysteria.

“CSK return can’t be expressed in words, only in feelings. It’s our family. It’s not only our team, it’s our culture,” said Saravanan.

When asked whether they got a chance to meet Dhoni or Raina, he said, “We are here to enjoy the match only. Not to disturb any player.”

He also added that Dhoni was really happy that CSK was back and concluded saying, he will be watching all the CSK games at Chennai’s new den in Pune.
