Rachakonda police pad up for IPL matches

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan on Monday stated that the police have made elaborate security arrangements for the 2023 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) T-20 cricket matches. Chauhan, held a meeting with Sunrisers team representatives, Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding the security arrangements at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal.

On the occasion, Chauhan said, the officials were ordered to take all necessary security precautions for the matches to be held at Uppal cricket stadium.

Organising cricket competitions in the commissionerate is a great opportunity and the officials have been instructed to make adequate security arrangements and ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the spectators, the commissioner said.

The Sunrisers team has been instructed to ensure that there was no confusion in the distribution of tickets. Organisers are advised to take due care in issuing passes to media representatives and others, he said.

It is suggested to arrange minimum needs like drinking water, toilet facilities, parking arrangements, etc. It is also suggested to install CCTVs in the vicinity of the stadium. He said that strict action would be taken against those who sell fake tickets. Distribution of tickets would be done in full transparency and no rumours should be believed, he added.

Other senior officials including joint commissioner Satyanarayana, DCP (Traffic) Abhishek Mohanty, DCP (Malkajgiri) D Janaki and other officials also participated in the meet.
