Johannesburg: India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Sunday enjoyed a match-winning five-wicket haul as he helped India restrict South Africa for 175-9, clinching a 28-run win.
In the 18th over, Bhuvneshwar was on a hat-trick as he removed Heinrich Klaasen and Chris Morris in two consecutive balls, both courtesy catches by Suresh Raina.
However, in the third ball, it was MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya who ran-out batsman Dane Paterson who managed one run, denying the hat-trick for the Uttar Pradesh bowler.
Following this incident, Twitteratti trolled Bhuvneshwar, saying that it was a ‘team’ hat-trick and not a hat-trick for the bowler.
Bhuvneshwar finished with a spell of 5-24 from four overs, as he was undoubtedly the pic of Indian bowlers. Asa a result, he was declared the Man of the Match award for his heroics.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, Virat Kohli’s men will look to seal the series when the two teams face-off in the second T20 on Wednesday in Centurion.
