Despite his stellar show, India’s premier bowler R. Ashwin has been subjected to constant criticisms. And the recent comments made by Harbhajan Singh only added fuel to the fire. “Kumble and my test wicket count would have been something else if we got wickets like last four years we playing on (sic),” Harbhajan had tweeted during the Indore Test.

Ashwin on Monday said he had put an end to it on Twitter. “Harbhajan has been an inspiration and I started bowling off spin only after seeing the 2001 series. The banter going on is unhealthy,” Ashwin tweeted.

“By pitting players against each other we aren’t going to gain anything but just a juicy headline. Let’s respect people and keep the game healthy,” he further added.

Harbhajan, in turn, clarified that his comments were not against Ashwin. “Dear (Ashwin) got nothing against you. For some reasons my words are misconstrued. Wish you nothing but the best. Keep the flag high! God bless,” tweeted Harbhajan.
