Mumbai: Earlier this year, Hardik Pandya was heavily rumoured to be dating Swedish-Greek actress Elli AvrRam. While the couple were spotted together on multiple instances together including Krunal Pandya’s wedding, their relationship soon fizzled out.

But as reports of the two celebrities getting married before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 gathered pace, AvrRam on Saturday quashed all rumours about tying the knot with the Team India star.

Responding to a news report on Twitter, where fans requested the Baroda all-rounder not to get married before the showpiece event in England, AvrRam revealed the two were not in touch anymore. Irked by the reports, she said their relationship ended long ago and urged her followers to move on from the news.

“For God's sake whoever have created this false article should be ashamed!!! Whatever it was, it ended a long time back!!! Kindly understand this and move on in life. I’m here for my work and not for disrespectful publicity like this. Thank you,” AvrRam’s wrote.

Pandya provides a lot of balance to the team, Indian captain Virat Kohli said earlier while backing his contribution in all three departments of cricket.

Kohli complimented Pandya’s return to Indian squad following the lift of suspension which was imposed in the wake of his misogynistic remarks at a celebrity chat show Koffee with Karan, for the intensity with which the all-rounder bowled.

“Good to have him back. He put his head down and focused on what he needed to do. He is in good head space, in the right kind of mind frame to perform for the team. I hope he keeps growing with this performance and builds onto this,” Kohli had said.

When asked about the impact of Pandya controversy, the Indian captain said in such situations either one is finished or one learns and get motivated and eventually understand there is nothing more important than cricket.

“You put all your energy in preparation and if you respect this game, it will reward you. There is no rocket science that you have to do something extra. But, if such incidents happen then those who come out positive, their entire career takes a different route.

"We have historically seen this happening with some players. I hope he (Pandya) picks up that path and improves his career and becomes a strong cricketer and I think he can do it,” Kohli said.
