Indore: Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan and his brother Yusuf, who are representing Baroda in the Ranji Trophy, had a memorable start to the new domestic home season, after having put up a 188-run partnership for the fifth wicket in their opener against Madhya Pradesh here.

While Irfan got out for 80 and four in his first and second innings, 34-year-old Yusuf scored tons in both his innings, scoring 111 in his first and following it up with an unbeaten 136 in the second innings.

Expressing his happiness, 32-year-old Irfan took to Twitter to share a video of his brother’s blistering knock in the first innings, where Irfan is seen giving a hug to his elder brother.

After having won the toss, Baroda elected to field first. With Madhya Pradesh having declared at 551-8, Baroda fought hard in reply, before faltering to 302. They were further forced a follow-on, where they were bowled out for 318.

However, Yusuf’s hard work with the bat was not enough for Baroda as the hosts eased to an eight-wicket win by chasing a total of 73.
