Johannesburg: Virat Kohli-led Team India had a forgettable start to their South African tour after having lost the first Test to the Proteas by 72 runs.

Despite a fighting effort by the Men in Blue, it was Vernon Philander’s six-wicket heroics which took the hosts home a win.

While Hardik Pandya (93 runs) was the star of the first innings, it was a 49-run partnership between Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar which had given some hope to the visitors.

Ahead of the second Test in Johannesburg, the Ravi Shastri-coached side visited the India House here, where they met the High Commissioner.

They also interacted Ali Bacher, a former South African cricketer.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) official Twitter handle posted a series of pictures from the trip.

Shikhar Dhawan, too, posted a picture on Twitter of the same.
