Players told to step up & clean up

New Delhi: Players will have to step up to convert recommendations into reality as suggested by the Justice Lodha committee, it was conveyed here on Saturday.

Lawyer Vidushpat Singhania, a representative of the committee, speaking about the proposed measures players  need to take to ensure smooth functioning of cricketing bodies at various levels, said, “It is to be noted that the committee  urges both men and women cricketers to be involved to a much larger extent and contribute towards the cause of cricket.”

The panel has mooted that a players' association be set up which will have only cricketers as its members. Present were notable figures such as Bishan Singh Bedi, Virender Sehwag, Madan Lal, Kirti Azad, Maninder Singh, Surender Khanna, Vivek Razdan, Manoj Prabhakar and a number of the Delhi District Cricket Association officials.
