MS Dhoni hits the nets with Rising Pune Supergiants

Players begin practice with their respective sides ahead of season 9.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings since the inception of the Indian Premier League in 2008, was appointed as the skipper of the new franchise rising Pune Supergiants in January this year.

India’s limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni shared the first photograph of him training with his new team-mates for IPL franchise Rising Pune Supergiants. This will be the first time Dhoni will be playing for a team that isn’t Chennai Super Kings after the outfit was suspended for two years due to the spot-fixing scandal.

Dhoni posted a photo on his Facebook page and wrote: “In the practice session with my new IPL team.” Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings since the inception of IPL, was appointed as the skipper of the new franchise in January earlier this year. After having made the most successful bid for a new franchise, Dhoni was Pune’s first pick at the player draft in December.
