Hyderabad: Shalimar Cricket Club secretary Ajmal Asad has denied reports of him objecting to adoption of Justice Lodha panel recommendations in the constitution of Hyderabad Cricket Association.

The HCA had stated in a press release that Ajmal was among those who had objected to Sunday’s Special General Meeting and amendments being taken up.

“I did not speak on that subject at all. I only wanted clarification on my position as joint secretary,” he said. Ajmal polled 124 votes to his opponent Vanka Prathap’s 80 in the elections held this January but the matter is pending in court, which the latter had moved over the election process.
