Barbados: Kieron Pollard led Barbados Trident registered 29-run victory over St Lucia Stars in the in Caribbean Premier League.

Tridents, led by man of the match Dwayne Smith, who scored a century, are still in contention for a place in the playoffs, while St Lucia Stars are knocked out from the race to the playoffs.

The match witnessed West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard getting involved in controversy as he got into an argument with Rahkeem Cornwell during the final moments of the match.

Cornwall, considered to be world’s heaviest cricketer, played a big inning at the top of the order. The 24-year old recorded his maiden T20 fifty by remaining not out on 78 runs which came off 44-balls. His innings included 7 fours and 6 sixes.

The big all rounder decided to retire hurt as he was tired and realised that he wouldn’t be able to continue batting. Trident skipper Pollard, who was not pleased with the incident, gave an ugly send off to the batsman. Pollard was so annoyed that he continued rumbling even after Cornwell’s departure and pointed out at him again after taking a catch two balls later.
