Hyderabad: Sree Krishna Priya Kudaravalli won the bronze at the Egypt International badminton tournament that concluded in Cairo on Sunday.

The fifth seeded Hyderabad shuttler lost to second seed Jordan Hart of Wales 16-21, 11-21 in the semifinals to settle for bronze. She could not cope with the gruelling schedule of playing her second match in two hours, against the second and third seeds, which took a toll on her energy and stamina.

The Pullela Gopichand Academy trainee acknowledged she has to work on her stamina and movements so as to withstand the grind of playing consecutive matches even as she vowed to continue with her strict regimen and discipline at rigorous training sessions.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, she made light of third seed Dorias Ajoke Adesokan of Nigeria in straight games with a 21-10, 21-19 scoreline.

Krishna Priya had it relatively easy in the previous round. She dominated Yasmin Chibah of Algeria to emerge a 21-10, 21-13 victor.

She had got off the blocks at a blistering pace though, a 21-6, 21-6 win in the first round over local girl Sohallaaly Abdelmagid making others in the draw sit up and take notice.
