Macau Open: Olympic bronze medallist Saina Nehwal’s campaign in the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold tournament came to end as she lost to China’s Zhang Yiman.

The top seeded player suffered a huge upset as she lost the quarter-finals tie against the world number 226 Yiman 12-21, 17-21.

This is Saina’s second consecutive defeat in quarter-finals. In November, the shuttler lost in the last eight of the Hong Kong Open to Cheung Ngan-yi.

The Olympian is making a comeback after she underwent a knee surgery for an injury suffered during the Rio Olympics.
