Zomato Delists Dwaraka Grand after CMC Flags Hygiene, License Violations
The corporation has issued directions to Swiggy and Zomato to strengthen compliance and coordination for food businesses operating through online delivery platforms
Hyderabad: Following Cyberabad Municipal Corporation’s (CMC) food safety inspection and communication with online food delivery platforms, Zomato has taken Shree Dwaraka Grand offline from its platform over hygiene concerns and license compliance issues.
The establishment located at Bagh Ameer in Cyberabad limits will be considered for reinstatement only after renewal of its FSSAI and Trade Licenses, completion of the required hygiene audit and verification of compliance. The CMC has appreciated Zomato's prompt response and cooperation towards better food safety compliance.
The corporation has issued directions to Swiggy and Zomato to strengthen compliance and coordination for food businesses operating through online delivery platforms. The key directions include onboarding only food establishments with valid FSSAI and trade licenses, delisting establishments whose licenses have been expired, suspended, or cancelled and sharing food safety ratings and inspection-related information with CMC.
The corporation also underscored the need for a dedicated coordination for inspections and grievance redressal, verification of the actual location of listed food establishments, ensuring food is prepared and dispatched only from approved premises and no removal or suppression of genuine customer reviews relating to food safety or hygiene.
The initiative aims to improve food safety compliance, platform accountability, and consumer protection across Cyberabad. As part of routine food safety inspections across Cyberabad, the CMC food safety teams inspected Shree Dwaraka Grand, a cloud kitchen operating under Reddy Catering Services on July 8, 2026 and found it operating with an expired FSSAI license, while online orders were still being facilitated.
The team also observed expired butter and chana dal apart from five cats inside the kitchen premises in addition to cockroach infestation. Heavy fly infestation in the kitchen and its flooring was found in poor condition. The water testing reports not was unavailable and no hot water sanitization of utensils.
