Youth Congress Leaders and Cadre Staged a Protest Against the Hiked Prices of Petrol and Diesel in Karimnagar

Youth Congress leaders and workers also burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised slogans against the BJP-led Central government.

Adilabad: Youth Congress leaders and cadre staged a protest at Indira Gandhi Chowk in Karimnagar on Monday against the increase in petrol and diesel prices and demanded that the Centre roll back the hike.

The protesters displayed placards reading “Daralu Penchadam Kadu Upashamanam Ivvandi” during the agitation.

The Centre has increased petrol prices by Rs.2.61 per litre and diesel prices by Rs.2.71 per litre with effect from Monday.

Youth Congress leaders and workers also burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised slogans against the BJP-led Central government.

The protesters said the hike in fuel prices would impose an additional financial burden on middle-class and lower middle-class families.

Karimnagar DCC president and Choppadandi MLA Medipalli Satyam, along with SUDA chairman Komati Reddy Narender Reddy, participated in the protest.
