HYDERABAD: Authorities at the Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple said they had prepared the ground to host over one lakh devotees on Tuesday for Vaikunta Ekadasi, amid a four-day surge that has seen the daily attendance 50,000.

Temple and police officials inspected the different zones to ensure seamless access for the devotees the sacred Uttara Dwaram — the symbolic gateway to Vaikunta — now extended to two full days, a departure from previous years.

Devotees will enter via the flower-decked northern gate, proceed to the main sanctum, with special rituals like Aradhana, Thiruppavai recitation, and Bala Bogham taking centre-stage. Abhishekam, Archana, and Kalyanam remain suspended

Bhadrachalam's Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple, Dharmapuri's Laxmi Narasimha temple, Chilkur Balaji temple, Jiyaguda Ranganathaswamy temple, Chikkadpally Venkateswara Swamy temple, Birla Mandir, Alwal Balaji temple, and Hare Krishna shrines are all abuzz with preparations.

Uttara Dwara Darshanam relates to Lord Vishnu granting liberation (moksha) to devotees who pass through the northern gate of his abode, Vaikuntha, on this specific day, said Narasimha Murthy, a priest of a Sri Ramalayam Temple in the city.
