Woman Ties Rakhi To Dead Brother In Final Farewell

A woman tied a rakhi to the body of her brother before his final rites at Manuguru in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Friday, in a poignant farewell on Rakhi festival day.

Simhadri Shiva Kumar, 28, a native of Gandhi Bomma Centre in Manuguru, died on Thursday after he was allegedly attacked by seven members of a gang over an old rivalry.

The final rites were performed on Friday. Before the body was taken to the graveyard, his sister Pallavi tied a rakhi to his hand and bid farewell to her brother amid inconsolable grief.

The emotional scene moved people who had gathered to pay their last respects to Shiva Kumar.
