Woman Kills 2 Daughters, Dies by Suicide

Khammam: Unable to bear the humiliation of the arrest of her husband in a theft case, a 35-year-old woman, Shaik Preja died by suicide after allegedly killing her two daughters, Mehak, 6, and Menurul, 7, at Nidhanampuram of Madhira mandal in the district on Thursday.

Grandmother of the children who resides near their village came to their house on Thursday morning and found the door locked from inside. When she looked into the house from an open window, she found the three unconscious. Alerted by her, locals broke open the doors and found the mother and her daughters dead in the house.

According to her relatives, her husband Shaik Bhaji was picked up by Khammam police for questioning in connection with a theft case. She was also asked by the police to come to the police station. She could not beat the insult and resorted to the extreme step.

Khammam police said Bhaji was picked up to inquire about a case. His wife was not asked to come to the police station. Madhira police filed a case and took up an investigation.
