Woman Held as Key Accused in Husband’s Murder in Sangareddy
The police arrested Kalpana, a resident of Gangapur village along with her accomplices Gaini Pandari (24) and Gaini Vittal (33), both residents of Manoor
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman Shambanolla Kalpana turned out to be the prime accused in the missing and murder of her husband Muthyam Reddy (35) in Sangareddy district on Monday.
The police arrested Kalpana, a resident of Gangapur village along with her accomplices Gaini Pandari (24) and Gaini Vittal (33), both residents of Manoor. Narayankhed Inspector G Srinivas Reddy said Muthyam Reddy went missing on April 16, 2026. Based on a complaint lodged by Kalpana after two days, the police booked a missing case and took up investigation.
During investigation, Kalpana’s behavior appeared suspicious. Police inquiry revealed that she was having an illicit relationship with Pandari of Elgoyi village in Manoor mandal. The police took Pandari into custody for questioning, during which he confessed that he, Kalpana, and his elder brother Vittal killed Muthyam Reddy.
Both Kalpana and Pandari had reportedly been in a close relationship and when Muthyam Reddy had come to know about it, he repeatedly warned his wife, but her behavior did not change.
Believing that her husband was becoming an obstacle to their illicit relationship, Kalpana allegedly conspired with her lover Pandari to kill him. On April 16, when Muthyam Reddy came to Narayankhed, Pandari allegedly lured him saying there was repair work for a borewell motor in his field and took him there on a bike.
Upon reaching the spot, Pandari and Vittal, who was already present, strangled Muthyam Reddy with a rope and killed him. Later, they buried the body in a pit that had been dug earlier using an earthmover and covered it with soil.
