Karimnagar: A woman allegedly poisoned her two children before dying by suicide in Maddulapally village, Pegadapalli mandal, Jagtial district.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Kambala Harika (30), administered pesticide to her children, Krishnanth (9) and Mayantha Lakshmi (8), on February 14. Harika, reportedly distressed over her husband's alleged extramarital affair and prolonged harassment for dowry, consumed the poison herself.
Harika succumbed the same night while undergoing treatment in Jagtial, while her children were shifted to a hospital in Hyderabad, where they died on Sunday night.
Her husband, Tirupati, an Oggu Katha artist, has been accused by her family of infidelity and persistent dowry harassment throughout their 12-year marriage. They claim Harika made a video call to Tirupati before taking her life.
Following a complaint from Harika’s family, Pegadapalli police have taken Tirupati into custody and launched an investigation. Officers have seized mobiles from both Harika and Tirupati to examine potential evidence, including the alleged video call, as they probe the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
