Hyderabad: An ASI of Nallakunta police station and an elderly woman suffered injuries in separate incidents due to Chinese manja used to fly kites on account of Sankranti festival since Monday evening.
The ASI Nagaraju, a resident of Uppal, was on the way to attend duty at Exhibition Grounds, where Numaish is organized when a Chinese manja entangled his neck at South Swaroopnagar. The passersby rushed him to a private hospital in LB Nagar where doctors kept him under observation.
In another incident, a 70-year-old woman, Yadamma, suffered cut injuries on her leg due to Chinese manja at Almasguda under Meerpet police station limits. On hearing her screams, locals rushed her to a private hospital in Meerpet.
