WARANGAL: A Warangal-based woman has accused former Hanamkonda police station sub-inspector Rajkumar of deceiving her with a promise of marriage and subjecting her to physical and mental harassment for four years.

She also alleged that he had threatened to kill her six-year-old daughter.

The woman appealed to the state government and senior police officials to order a comprehensive inquiry into her allegations, take legal action against the officer and provide protection to her, her daughter and those supporting her.

Addressing the media in Hyderabad on Monday, she said she had approached the police station seeking help over family disputes when Godari Rajkumar allegedly assured her of assistance but later began harassing her.

When she became suspicious of his behaviour and tried to distance herself, he allegedly threatened to make public the photographs and videos of them together in compromising positions, and forced her to continue the relationship, she claimed.

The woman said she approached the police after being unable to bear the harassment anymore. She broke down while claiming that the harassment had intensified even after Rajkumar was arrested and later released.

She said the alleged threat to kill her daughter had left her frightened and distressed.

The woman also alleged that while she had been approaching senior police officials seeking justice, Rajkumar portrayed her as the person harassing him. Cases under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act were allegedly registered against her family members and others who supported her, she said.

The woman urged the government to provide protection to her and her daughter and sought an impartial investigation. She also sought a comprehensive inquiry into the cases registered against those supporting her and demanded justice for them.
