Hyderabad: Hyderabad enjoys a pleasant climate from November to mid-February, a period that attracts a large number of outstation and foreign tourists, boosting tourism-linked businesses across the city. The tourism hotspots are Charminar, Golconda Fort, Birla Mandir, tourist spots around Hussainsagar, and the Nehru Zoological Park.
The zoo park recorded its highest-ever single-day footfall on January 1, with 25,900 visitors.

Superintending archaeologist, ASI Hyderabad Circle, Dr Nihil Das, said that out of 3,685 protected monuments across India, Golconda and Charminar continue to attract high tourist footfall. Golconda Fort recorded 1,57,164 visitors between April 2024 and March 2025, while Charminar saw about 11.5 lakh visitors during the last financial year.

Singam Srinivas of Lingamaiah Pearls, Bangles and Jewellers at Lad Bazaar said pearl sales nearly double during these three months. “White pearls sell the most, while foreign tourists prefer pink, black and baroque pearls,” he said.
Rani Kumar, a college dean from Mumbai, said Hyderabad has been a regular study tour destination for her students for the past three years. She noted that the city’s heritage and culture offer valuable insights for students of mass communication and visual studies, adding that December and January are the best months to visit.

Mohammed Saleem of the Tourist Bus Owners Association said tourism-dependent businesses thrive during this season. “Along with tourist buses, SUVs, tempo travellers, Innovas and other vehicles are in constant demand every day,” he noted.

The Salar Jung Museum, a major attraction for foreign tourists, has also seen a significant rise in footfall. While the museum usually records 3,000 to 4,000 visitors a day, the number has crossed 7,000 daily during the peak winter tourist season.
