HYDERABAD: Winter is refusing to loosen its grip on Telangana, with cold nights and mild day temperatures set to continue well into February, delaying the usual onset of spring heat.

According to data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), minimum temperatures will remain lower than normal till February 7 or 8. Daytime temperatures are expected to stay between 29°C and 31°C, while night temperatures will hover around 14°C to 16°C.

Sangareddy recorded the lowest minimum on February 1 at 12.8°C, while Hyderabad registered 15.8°C, cooler than typical for this time of year.

No rainfall is forecast across Telangana over the next 10 days, keeping conditions dry but comfortable. Officials said the steady chill and moderate daytime heat have made this one of the most pleasant winters in nearly seven years, with February opening on a cooler note instead of the sharp heat spikes seen in recent seasons.
