Earth Sciences University Will Extend Valuable Knowledge To The Country: Dy CM
Speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion of the inauguration of Dr Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at Kothagudem in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, Bhatti said that the construction of buildings and facilities for the university would be completed as soon as possible and that more courses would be launched.
Nalgonda: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said that Dr Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University would be developed into a world-class educational institute, which would extend knowledge to the country through research.
Speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion of the inauguration of Dr Manmohan Singh Earth Sciences University by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at Kothagudem in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, Bhatti said that the construction of buildings and facilities for the university would be completed as soon as possible and that more courses would be launched.
He said that an exclusive university on earth sciences existed nowhere else in the country except at Kothagudem in Telangana. In addition to offering courses, the university would also take up research on the layers of the earth, minerals, and other geological matters, which would help the country on many fronts. He exuded confidence that the earth sciences university would become a guiding centre for research on minerals.
Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the earlier BRS government had not named even a single welfare scheme or project after Dr. Manmohan Singh, whose government accorded statehood to Telangana, during its 10-year rule. The Congress government has named the earth sciences university after Dr Manmohan Singh, and has implemented all the promises made to the people during its two-year rule, which has created credibility for it among the public.
Stating that the Congress government requires the support of the people in the future as well, he indirectly referred to the grama panchayat elections, saying that the verdict of the people should be in favour of the Congress government.
Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the Chief Minister has laid special focus on the development of erstwhile Khammam district. He said `20,000 crore has been sanctioned for the Sitarama Project and expressed readiness to sanction another `5,000 crore if required. He exuded confidence that the dream of the people of the district to have a railway line to Bhadrachalam and an airport in the district would also soon materialise.
