Wife, Child Missing After Row Over Handset
Mother leaves home with daughter over a mobile phone dispute
Hyderabad: A domestic quarrel over a new mobile phone has taken a distressing turn in Ghatkesar, where a woman and her three‑year‑old daughter have gone missing.
According to police, Sony, employed as a helper at a private school, left home with her daughter on Wednesday after her husband, Vemula Suresh, failed to buy her a new handset. She had reportedly been pressing him for one as her current phone was damaged.
When she did not return by evening, Suresh tried to reach Sony but found her phone switched off. He lodged a complaint with Ghatkesar police on Thursday evening.
Police said the couple, married for some time, reside in Lingalakunta within Ghatkesar police station limits. Officers and family members are now searching for the mother and child. Investigators are examining call records of Sony’s mobile number to trace her contacts and possible location.
