Why Is Revanth Silent On Tejasvi's Slander On Telangana?: Harish
Speaking with reporters in Jagtial, Harish Rao said Surya insulted the self-respect of four crore people of Telangana.
HYDERABAD: BRS Assembly deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao on Saturday sought an explanation from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his silence on BJP MP Tejasvi Surya who equated the formation of Telangana with the Partition that led to creation of Pakistan.
Speaking with reporters in Jagtial, Harish Rao said Surya insulted the self-respect of four crore people of Telangana. “Why has Revanth Reddy not condemned the comments,” Harish Rao asked. Harish Rao, along with BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was in Jagtial to check on preparations for the April 20 public meeting to be addressed by BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao.
He also slammed the BJP leaders from Telangana, including Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, for “trying to defend Surya. Instead of telling Surya to issue an unqualified apology, Kishan Reddy and others in the BJP are trying to defend him.” Telangana was formed constitutionally under Article 3 after a long democratic struggle. Insulting its formation is an insult to the sacrifices of its people, he said.
On former senior Congress leader T. Jeevan Reddy’s decision to join the BRS, he said Jeevan Reddy is a leader with strong political values. His entry will strengthen the BRS not just in Karimnagar but across North Telangana. “The political mood in the state is clearly shifting, with people increasingly saying, ‘Revanth Reddy must go, KCR must return’,” Harish Rao said.
