Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi of selling blood collected from its cadre recently. Speaking to mediapersons here, the Chief Minister dared BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao to reveal the details of the recent blood donation camp organised by the party purportedly in protest against the former’s remarks that blood of the family members of party president K. Chandrashekar Rao should be sprayed across paddy fields in case of water shortage.
After giving a call to the cadre to donate blood and organising blood donation camps, none of the Chandrashekhar Rao’ family members including Rama Rao and senior party leader T. Harish Rao donated blood. “Why did they avoid it? To whom the blood was donated,” Revanth Reddy said and accused the BRS of selling the blood collected in the donation camps to private blood banks.
Reiterating his charges of nexus between Rama Rao and Globarena, the Chief Minister said if the previous government had blacklisted the company for bungling the Intermediate results, it would not have got the CBSE and NTA contracts. Maintaining that the previous government closed cases against the company, Revanth Reddy said he directed the vigilance and enforcement department to explore the possibilities of getting the case re-opened.
Revanth Reddy also dared former IPS officer and BRS leader R.S. Praveen Kumar to seek inquiry into the procurement of materials for welfare hostels during the BRS regime. Maintaining that there were large scale irregularities, Revanth Reddy said the former IPS officer would land in jail.
He ridiculed Rama Rao’s claims of the Congress’ survey projecting defeat of the party in the next elections. He reminded the BRS leader that the gap between the vote share of the Congress and the BRS, which was just 2.5 per cent, has widened to more than 12 per cent in the recent municipal polls.
